Racing Herts is a Hertfordshire-based flyball club. When members decide to take part in tournaments,
they enter as part of one of the teams from the Racing Herts stable, such as Leaping Herts or Pounding Herts, but the rules
below apply to all members of Racing Herts.
The club captain is Gill Johnson, MBIPDT (Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers).
Racing Herts Club Rules
Training
- During training sessions when not running, all dogs must be kept on a lead and under supervision.
- Any dog not participating in a particular part of the training is to be outside the training area, preferably in the owner's/handler's
car.
- No bitches in season may attend training.
- All owners/handlers must clear up after their dogs.
- All members must keep clear of the run back area when they are not participating.
- Unless by prior agreement, all members are asked to attend for the entire training session in order to assist with setting
up and clearing away.
The happiness of the members of Racing Herts and their dogs is very important to us. If you have any concerns or are
unhappy with any aspects of training, then please speak to the captain, Gill Johnson, as soon as possible, and she will do
her best to resolve the issue. Click here to email Gill.

- as a result the team is unable to compete in the tournament,
the member must reimburse Racing Herts with the
cost of entering the whole team.
- At tournaments and demonstrations members are asked to wear team uniform so as to be readily identifiable and should act
in such a way as to uphold the good name of the team.

If an owner indicates their dog is available for a tournament, and the dog is entered into a competition,
then the owner is responsible for the entry fee regardless of whether or not the dog runs. (The Club Captain does however
have discretion to allow for a fee to be waived in exceptional circumstances, e.g. if a dog becomes pregnant, comes into season
or suffers serious injury.)
If a team is entered with only four dogs, the club will pay the fee for the fifth absent dog.
If a dog is not being run by his/her owner, the owner will nevertheless pay the entry fee. The person running the dog
will agree a payment directly with the owner if that is appropriate.

New members are allowed to attend their first training session without charge while they decide if Racing
Herts flyball is for them (and their dog!)
This is followed by a 2 month probation period during which the new member is asked to pay training fees.
At the end of this period, if the dog is suitable and the owner wishes to continue, the new member pays an entry fee of £15
individual / £25 per family – pro rata to 1 January.
At this point the club will also write to the owner inviting them to join the club.
