When and where we train

  • Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm
  • Bayford Hall Farm, Bayford Lane, Bayford, Hertfordshire SG13 8PR
Bayford is near Hertford. Bayford Lane is off the B158 (Hatfield Road) that runs between Hertford and Essendon

We train in a large metal building used mainly for horse events. It is lit at night and provides full shelter against rain, snow, etc., but it can be cold in Winter. The floor surface is chopped rubber.

In late Spring and early Summer, we sometimes make the most of the light evenings and train in the open at another location.

Your first time?

We always welcome new faces and new dogs. So if you have a dog that's over a year old, is physically fit and enjoys a good game, please get in touch.

If it’s your first time, it’s best to contact club captain Gill Johnson in advance. Click here to send Gill an email. If you’re unable to contact her, please turn up and ask for Vanessa.

What to bring

  • Your dog!
  • Your dog’s recall toy
  • Some treats for your dog
  • Some water for your dog that you can keep back in the car
  • On your first visit - your dog’s current vaccination certificate

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Flyball is an athletic sport for both you and your dog! In Winter warm clothes are recommended - it can get quite cold in the building where we train in the evening.

It’s also best to bring a change of shoes – or at least change before you get home. Footwear gets very dirty on the rubber flooring, even when it’s not muddy outside. The same goes for your dog’s feet. You’ll probably want to rub down your dog’s feet or take him/her for a walk before allowing those paws indoors!

It’s normally best to keep your dog in the car except when he/she is actually training. This allows the dog to rest between exercises.
